The location offered a peaceful escape just a short drive away from the busy life of San Juan del Sur. However, the roads leading to the resort were challenging, bumpy, and unpaved, which could deter some travelers. The climbing wall needed repairs, as many holds were broken, limiting our ability to enjoy it fully. While the food was decent, there were moments when certain options felt underwhelming, and I noticed a lack of maintenance in some areas of the property, particularly the bathrooms. The air conditioning in our room wasn't very reliable, sometimes struggling to provide a comfortable environment. Overall, despite its charm and potential, improvements in maintenance and detailed attention to guest comfort would significantly enhance the experience.

great family amenities but slow service

I had a productive stay at Surf Ranch Hotel & Resort from 2024-01-15 to 2024-01-17. I appreciated the quick check-in process and the accommodating staff who were responsive to our needs. The renovated deluxe rooms we received were a highlight, and the food exceeded expectations, particularly the excellent beef burrito. Notably, the pool area was well-maintained and provided a refreshing break from work.

The limited availability of some beverages during the all-inclusive package was disappointing.

I stayed for 2 nights in a Standard Double Room. The room had air conditioning, a private bathroom, and a balcony. The pool area is awesome with a water slide. The spa offers amazing massages. Food was pretty good, especially the pizza. Staff was super friendly too!

Staying here was a delightful choice, as it was just 5 minutes from downtown, allowing for convenient strolls to nearby attractions like ChocoMuseo and Mercado, both just a short walk away. the rooms were comfortable and kept clean, making my stay truly enjoyable.
